This was one of 3 annual exhibits devoted to the now famous African/American artists whose landscapes recorded our beloved Florida, alas, fast disappearing.  They are recognized and appreciated for scenes of windswept palms, Poinciana trees, sunsets and oceans that place them as pre-eminent in Florida’s primitive art movement.

This exhibit was a timeline from Sam Morse and the telegraph and Alexander Bell with the invention of the telephone, through a timeline of communication in America, ending with the Space Age, satellites and FiOS.

Now owned by the Museum, it is one of the most complete collection of artifacts from the Mississippian culture (12,000 BC to 1,000 AD,) of which Florida was a part of.  There were displays of Pre-Columbian pottery, digging spades, stone axes, bone tools, bannerstones and projectile points.  On the walls above the displays, we hung artwork by 4 major Florida artists who specialize in capturing the life of our ancient Florida tribes. 

 We celebrated 100 years of the Boy Scouts with a 100 items loaned by local Boy Scout officials, and 98 years of the Girl Scouts with a display set up by the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida.  This included a dead tree cut  down just for the Exhibit, and placed behind the tent.

Thank you to the Dunedin NASLEMM (National Armed Services & Law Enforcement Memorial Museum), The Pelikan Model Club, The MVP (Military Vehicle Preservation Club) and our local Veterans who loaned us items to present our WWII Exhibit.

  Flying from the ceiling was a uniform from each of our 3 National teams, who play in Pinellas County, along with displays of signed vintage bats, photos, posters, memorabilia highlighting Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Lou Pinella, and much more.

Every 3 to 4 months the museum rotates special exhibits of many interests. A few of the past exhibits are displayed below.  Currently showing is the "The Berlin Wall Art Collection".
